Air-conditioned and non air-conditioned buses leave Bangkok's Southern Bus Terminal, Hat Yai, Trang and Phuket several times daily.
Trips by air-conditioned bus from Bkk which normally depart in the evening, takes about 13 hours to Krabi, 2hrs from Trang, and about 4hrs from HatYai & PakBara.  Add another 3 or 4 to get to Penang and Langkawi in Malaysia.

Thai Airways operates daily direct flights to/from Bangkok, likewise Air Asia from Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Bangkok Airway flies direct to/from Krabi and Ko Samui  and Phuket, nearly every day of the week to/from.

Krabi

The passenger port in Krabi Town is at Klong Jilard Pier (Tel. 0 7562 0052) about 3 km outside Krabi Town, ask any taxi, tuk-tuk or motorcycle to take you.

Krabi International Airport (KBV) is about 10 km from the city limits, 15 km from the city centre, 40km from Ao Nang and 23km from Had Yao.

The main bus terminal is near Krabi Town, there will be many tuk-tuks, taxis and other services when you arrive, tell them you destination and someone will organize it for you.  We recommend Arunsiri Tour at the main terminal.

Phuket
Buses depart daily to many destinations in Thailand and Malaysia from the Southern Bus Terminal in Phuket Town.

When leaving Phuket by bus to Bangkok or other Southern destinations, you will stop at the Bus Terminal in Krabi. Bus from Bangkok: *VIP bus - 07:20 am * First class bus - 19:00 * Second class bus - 07:30, 19:00, 19:30, 21:00. See the bus schedule

You can get from the Phuket Airport to Rassada Pier by taxi, its a 30 km drive and takes about 45 minutes depending on traffic and weather.

Koh Lipe, Lanta and other Southern islands

There is a ferry service that runs during the High-Season from Phuket to Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Koh Muk, Koh LaoLiang and Lipe. Most places can be reached by land as well, with just a short boat ride. Check the links at the top of the page.

Hat Yai

The Mini-Bus station has moved outside of the city centre, transfer to Pak Bara is about 180 baht, however, the driver waits until the bus is full which could delay your departure.
Buses depart almost hourly, to Phuket, Krabi, and Bangkok. A taxi to/from the airport costs about 350 baht to get to the city center. Hat Yai has great markets, shopping, hospital, internet, and some fantastic restaurants, like The Swan. There is plenty of accommodation.
